Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away, which absolutely blows my mind. It seems like July was just yesterday. Since Nick and I started dating we have alternated holidays with each of our families. This year we are doing Thanksgiving in Houston with his family and celebrating it later with mine. We decided long ago this is the most fair way for us to do things and it really keeps everyone happy.
One of my favorite things about Turkey Day is the anticipation of the delicious feast you know is coming. I love waking up and watching the parade while I’m baking a dessert to share with everyone later. Spending time with loved ones is always a pleasure and it does not happen nearly enough.
Fall decorations are so sweet and putting up Christmas decor before Thanksgiving is way too early. Respect the bird, y’all.
I also love black Friday shopping! Who’s with me on this? My mom and I have the BEST time sorting through all of the ads, making lists, and hitting the stores! There are some amazing deals out there and shopping not only allows us to grab some new gear, but we get to spend quality time together. This year I will not be doing any shopping in the stores on black Friday since my partner in crime will be in a different city. I do have hope though. After all, there is always online shopping.
What are some of your favorite Thanksgiving traditions?
