My friend, and fellow blogger, Silvia from Lovely Silvia recently hosted a Galentine’s Day Brunch. It was so cute and I had a blast! I got to know Silvia better and had the chance to meet another amazing blogger named Ressa. Ressa blogs at Ressamazing! It was fun to have a girly brunch and celebrate each other as bloggers.
Each of us brought a food item that we made and a decoration. Silvia made those delicious chocolate pretzel bites that you see on the heart platter. She did a post on how she made them. You can check it out here. The sweet chocolate and the salty pretzel make the perfect combination. She also made sherbet mimosa’s which were amazing! Ressa made the yummy fruit skewers you see on the left. What made these so sweet is that she cut the strawberries into little hearts before she assembled them. The fruit was such a refreshing treat and the lifesaver gummies were a nice surprise!
I made festive rice crispy treats! They were so fun and easy to make. They reminded me of my childhood. All I did was make regular rice crispy treats – using the recipe that is on the marshmallow bag. Cut them into rectangles, inserted a cute straw, and dipped them into melted milk chocolate and white chocolate. I added some sprinkles for fun.
For my decoration, I made the heart garland you see around my shoulders. I have made this before and it is a good way to add a pop of color to any table. You can see the technique I used for this here. Ressa made a beautiful flower crown to wear at our celebration. She is so talented! Silvia took care of the table-scape and completely went above and beyond with her decor!
Have you ever celebrated Galentine’s Day?
